Homemade Ranch Dressing

A creamy, herby homemade ranch dressing recipe with fresh dill, parsley, and lemon — the base for Kingdom Spread's coming honey chili oil ranch.

Ingredients
  

  • cup milk
  • ½ cup + 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons mayo
  • teaspoons vinegar
  • lemons juiced (fresh)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (plus a sprig for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 garlic cloves minced or pressed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon fresh chives finely chopped (optional — add when you have them on hand)

Method
 

  1. Pour the milk into a jar or bowl.
  2. Whisk in the sour cream, then the mayo, until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  4. Add the pressed garlic (and chives, if using).
  5. Add the vinegar, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir to combine.
  6. Add the fresh parsley, fresh dill, dried parsley, and dried dill. Shake or whisk until fully combined.
  7. Cover and refrigerate so the flavors meld. Garnish with a fresh dill sprig before serving.
