Tue 4 Mar, 6:47pm — text message He wrote: “I’m not doing Saturday. Figure it out.” Scheduled exchange: Sat 8 Mar, 10:00am — cancelled by him. Witness to my reply: none. Reply sent Wed 5 Mar, 7:02pm (24-hr rule): “Confirming you have cancelled Saturday’s exchange. [Child] will be ready at the next scheduled time. Please confirm.”

Why this kit exists

I walked into my first custody hearing carrying a folder of feelings — no system, no timeline, no idea that family court runs on documented truth. It cost me ground I should never have lost, and it took four years in family court to learn what preparation actually looks like. I’m an ordained minister and a University of Toronto graduate with college training in social work, and I wrote everything down so the mother three weeks from her first hearing doesn’t pay the price I paid.
